Frank Gallery Show and Talk at Parnell Memorial LibraryThe public is invited to our first gallery showing of 2012! Alabaster artist Christoffer Frank's work will be on display in Parnell Library Gallery from Monday, January 9th through Wednesday, February 29th. Mr. Frank started out as an artist from a very young age, then elected to pursue the ministry and then returned ten years later to once again follow his artistic roots. His medium of choice is watercolor. However, he excels in charcoal, graphite, pen and ink and oil pastels. His work is progressive because he paints in series; being inspired by the twists and turns his life takes. There will also be a reception and gallery talk for the artist January 15th, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. Please plan on coming to see this very eclectic display of paintings. Christoffer will give a short talk going from minister to artist and becoming both as he moves forward in his life. You can find exhibits of fine art throughout the year at the Parnell Memorial Library Arts Gallery. Visit MAC on Facebook for Pictures of the 2011 Art Show!The Fifth Annual Montevallo Art Show was held on Saturday, April 9, in Orr Park from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The family-friendly event included more than fifty artists selling their art work in booths along Shoal Creek and the Orr Park walking trails. Performing on the Square Stage was the Montevallo Community Band (10:30 a. m.), the Klezmer Band (12:00 noon), the Neo Jazz Collective (1:30 p. m.), and Giants and Toys (3:00 p.m.). A variety of food vendors were on hand all day. Support and participate in the arts!The Council supports the work of community arts organizations, including Montevallo Main Street Players, Montevallo Community Chorale, and Montevallo Community Band.
