MMSP Schedules Annual Meeting

The Montevallo Main Street Players will hold its annual meeting on Sunday, January 29 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. in the Parnell Memorial Library Meeting Room. During the meeting, MMSP will elect new members to the board of directors, introduce its officers, and discuss the upcoming season. Light refreshments will be served.
The public is invited to attend, join, and participate in upcoming productions.
The Parnell Memorial Library is located at 277 Park Road, Montevallo, AL 35115.

MMSP Hosts Christmas Benefit
The Montevallo Main Street Players hosted a Christmas Benefit for Shelby Emergency Assistance on Wednesday, December 21st at 9:00 p.m. at Main Street Tavern.
Music was provided by local favorites Horses As Is and special guests The Clay States.
The benefit was sponsored by Main Street Tavern, CGS Events, and the Montevallo Main Street Players.

The Tubes Glow in the Dark, October 28-29, 2011.
The Montevallo Main Street Players staged The Tubes Glow in the Dark: Old Time Radio Shows Adapted for the Stage, a Readers Theatre, on October 28-30 at the Parnell Memorial Library Theater.
The Tubes Glow in the Dark included two classic radio dramas, Murder Castle by Arch Oboler and Arsenic and Old Lace by Joseph Kesselring and transcribed for radio by B.J. George.
Directed by Steve Gilbert, the casts included Stephanie Ford Foster, Steve Gilbert, Jennie Ford Glenn, Norman McMillan, Lisa Ponder, Todd Ponder, Len Ward, Danielle Warren, and Jenny Wheeler of Montevallo; Nicolas Barrows and “Dollar” Bill Lawson of Alabaster; Paige Blake of Helena; Jim Chomicz of Maylene; Ronald Davis of Randolph; Johnny Curry of Hueytown; and Jeanine Pope Carter of Birmingham.
Music was provided by Chuck King and Friends and Horses As Is String Band.
Rumors, August 26-28, 2011.
The Montevallo Main Street Players staged Rumors, a comedy by Neil Simon August 26-28 at the Parnell Memorial Library Theater.
The play is set in a large, stylish New York loft. In Simon’s comedy of errors, the Deputy Mayor of New York has just shot himself. Though only a flesh wound, four couples are about to experience a severe attack of Farce. As the confusions and miscommunications mount, the evening spins off into classic farcical hilarity.
Directed by James Kitchens and produced by Tammy Killian, the cast included Aaron Moore, Karen Marie Black, Katie Dale, Tyree Walker, B.J. Underwood, Mia Shirley, Chance Caruthers and Katie Burks of Montevallo and Jade Rice and Zach Clemons of Birmingham.
Rumors was produced by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc. of New York.
