The Montevallo Main Street Players staged Always… Patsy Cline by Ted Swindley April 7-9 at 7:30 p.m. and April 10 at 2 p.m. at the Parnell Memorial Library Theater, 277 Park Road in Montevallo.

Mary Howard portrayed Patsy Cline and Jenny Wheeler played her friend, Louise Seger. The Bodacious Bobcats Band, a five-piece country and western combo, accompanied the actors on 27 songs, pulled largely from the Patsy Cline songbook.

More than a tribute to the legendary country singer who died tragically at age 30, Always…Patsy Cline takes place at Louise Seger’s kitchen table and at various venues from Patsy Cline’s career. During the play, Louise shares her memories of many years ago. Like her memories, Louise is timeless, stuck somewhere in the era of Patsy Cline’s short but stellar career.

Always…Patsy Cline was produced by special arrangement with APC, Inc. Additional funding for this production was provided by the Alabama State Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts
